The M6-S mount is identical to the M6-Sa except that it only fits Auto Ordnance, and not new Inland Manufacturing. We’re clearing out the last of our M6-S mounts at a discount, as they are all lightly used and/or have minor blemishes.
Taking the versatility of the M1 Carbine to the next level, the UltiMAK model M6 mount is the lowest, most stable and practical optic mount available. The forward positioning allows faster targeting with better field of view, provides more rail length, maintains full access to the receiver mechanism with optics in place, and will not interfere with case ejection. No need to remove your rear iron sight.
The MIL STD 1913 (Weaver/Picatinny) rail sits lower than anything else available for this great carbine, providing a better, more natural cheek weld for extremely fast target acquisition. No gunsmithing needed for the most part (although some stocks do require minor inletting – removal of some wood or plastic – inside the forend, but the old G.I. stocks we’ve tested require no modification. See below for more information). CNC machined from super strong 6061-T6 aluminum and hard anodized.
Regarding the minor stock modification needed:
Although M1 Carbines made by Auto Ordnance are GI spec, they will need to have a small amount of wood removed from inside the stock forend to accommodate the UltiMAK barrel clamps. See the installation instructions, Figure 9 and accompanying text, at the link below.
