This clever design has a cylindrical portion at the back which attaches firmly to the AK receiver tang and supports the AR stock tube from inside. The AR stock tube also threads into the main portion of the adapter and locks in place, CAR-15 style. Very solid. This arrangement will raise the comb slightly. Some will like it better, others will need to press the face into the comb a little more than normal. The extra comb height is a plus when using any optic that significantly raises the sight height, such as an EOTech or Trijicon Reflex, or when using the old Russian style side rail optic mounts. Any buttstock that fits an M-16, AR-15, CAR-15 or M-4 will now work on your stamped AK. Shown on the AK at right is the lightweight four position collapsable CAR stock.
